FINANCE MANAGER
Position based in Koforidua, Ghana, West Africa

Position overview
We are searching for a highly analytical Finance Manager to produce financial reports, manage the factory’s accounts, and create strategies and plans for the long-term financial goals of the organization. We are looking for an accomplished accountant who will be proactive with company finances and who is passionate about building excellence into the finance department of a high growth factory. The ideal candidate is expected to be detail oriented, have a proven track record of leading accounting operations in a dynamic environment, have strong problem-solving skills and an investigative nature. The Finance Manager will be based in Koforidua and will report directly to the General Manager. They will be accountable for the following areas:
Responsibilities

Plan, organize and execute all financial tasks and projects of the organization.

Work with the General Manager to complete monthly financial forecasts for the Company to be presented to the Board of Directors.

Develop templates for and complete financial reports, lead month-end closing processes and analyze factory performance against budget.

Work with the General Manager to develop real-time dashboards that translate factory performance on efficiency and quality into financial impacts.

Regularly analyze and dive deep into every area of factory overhead to identify areas of savings and ensure proper procurement processes are in place.

Strategize on fund procurement through banks and other financial institutions. Lead the process of applying for trade finance (debt) funding from relevant financial institutions in Ghana.

Supervise, coach, train and develop the factory’s Finance Associate to progressively take on more responsibility.

Ensure the factory’s petty cash and expenditure processes follow best practices.

Lead the process of preparing the factory’s annual trial balance for submission to Accountants.

Understand and calculate risks involved in the financial activities of the organization.

Lead the implementation and training of ERP finance functions at the factory, with proactive leadership and collaboration on areas of overlap with HR, Production, Warehouse and Finishing departments.

Conduct regular checks of physical inventory versus balance sheets.

Analyze factory performance on stock usage and translate consumption performance and cut to ship ratios into financial impact.

Provide financial insight and analysis to drive the business performance and achieve the KPIs of the organization.
Qualifications & Attributes
-
Degree in Finance/Accounting.

A proven track record of similar position in the industry; 5+ years’ experience with experience leading a team.

Preferred background working in an industrial / factory environment in Finance management.

International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) accreditation, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.

Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience in Tally and other accounting softwares preferred.
