Human Resources Officer (2)

Full time position based in Koforidua, Ghana

With a current workforce of approximately 750 operators, the factory has the capacity to expand and accommodate up to 1,800 individuals. Headquartered in Ghana, EAA boasts a dynamic team with extensive expertise garnered from various corners of the globe, spanning product development, quality assurance, account management, social impact, operations, and finance. EAA collaborates with factories across West Africa to elevate technical and ethical standards to meet international benchmarks. Their clientele primarily comprises international brands hailing from Europe and the USA, all seeking to establish and expand their manufacturing presence within the African continent.

 

Position overview

We are seeking two motivated and proactive HR Officers to support the development and retention of a skilled workforce in a dynamic garment manufacturing environment during the day and night shift respectively. Based in Koforidua, the HR Officer will play a key role in supporting HR operations, ensuring compliance, promoting employee well-being, and facilitating smooth day-to-day HR processes. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about people development and thrives in a fast-paced, factory-based environment.

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Support end-to-end recruitment activities, including community reach out, job postings, shortlisting, coordinating interviews, and sending offer or rejection notifications.

  • Facilitate onboarding, orientation, and induction of new employees.

  • Ensure accurate and complete collection of employee documentation 

  • Assist with employment contract issuance and filing.

Employee Administration

  • Maintain up-to-date employee records (hard and electronic), including attendance, overtime, absences, and shift changes.

  • Support with processing of staff movements: new hires, exits, leave tracking, contract renewals, and related documentation.

  • Prepare HR correspondence as requested by the Head of HR / Compliance or General Manager.

 

HR Reporting & Analytics

  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on attendance, headcount, turnover, absenteeism, and other key metrics.

  • Analyze HR data and identify trends or issues requiring escalation.

  • Coordinate with line managers and supervisors to gather workforce insights.

 

Payroll & Benefits Support

  • Maintain attendance tracking and liaise with the HR Manager for payroll processing.

  • Respond to employee queries regarding pay, leave, and benefits including pensions.

  • Assist with distribution of payslips and HR payroll reports.

 

Training & Development

  • Track and coordinate induction and on-the-job training for new staff.

  • Ensure proper evaluation and integration of newly trained staff onto production lines.

  • Conduct post-training evaluations to assess effectiveness and trainer performance.

 

Employee Relations & HR Initiatives

  • Contribute to create a safe, rewarding and inspiring work environment

  • Provide day-to-day support and advice to employees and supervisors on HR policies and procedures.

  • Actively engage employees to build trust, boost morale, anticipate and resolve concerns.

  • Support the implementation of performance management and employee feedback systems.

  • Assist with internal surveys and HR-led initiatives.

 

Health, Safety & Welfare

  • Provide first aid to employees and coordinate response to health incidents.

  • Conduct basic health checks and wellness education sessions.

  • Maintain accurate, confidential medical records and incident reports in line with company policy.

 

Qualifications & Attributes

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ HR experience, preferably in a factory or industrial setting.

  • Working knowledge of Ghana Labour Law and HR compliance standards.

  • Familiarity with HR information systems and HR reporting tools.

  • HR metrics and reporting (attendance, turnover, headcount)

  • Demonstrable experience with human resources metrics and HR systems

  • Knowledge of payroll support processes and benefit administration

  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel and Word)

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities

  • High level of discretion and confidentiality

  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail

  • Team-oriented, adaptable, and proactive approach

  • Resilient under pressure and capable of meeting deadlines

  • Demonstrated integrity and professionalism in all actions

  • Willingness to be based in Koforidua and work flexible hours, including occasional night shifts.
